Fans of romance will be treated to a special event celebrating two colourful careers in opera – thrilling soprano Antoinette Halloran and powerful tenor Rosario La Spina.

The glamorous duo will be joined on stage by Opera Queensland legend Jason Barry-Smith, who will both compère and direct the performance, together with Narelle French providing a luscious accompaniment on grand piano, and supported by an ensemble of favourite performers Susan Ellis, Jessica Low and Nick Kirkup with the 50-strong Open Stage Community Chorus.

Their program of songs ranges far and wide, from the iconic tenor aria “Ridi, Pagliaccio”, dreamy Puccini moments including “O soave fanciulla” from La bohème and the Humming Chorus from Madama Butterfly, sparkling melodies from the world of operetta and beloved Neapolitan song, complemented by musical insights, personal stories, and a few surprises… all performed on the glittering Act 3 set of The Merry Widow.
