Erica is OperaQ’s Creative Producer, a role she commenced in 2015, after four years as Concerts Manager, Queensland, for Musica Viva Australia. She came to Musica Viva from Queensland Theatre, where she had worked in Artistic Development and as a freelance writer, managing projects including the creative development of new works, and the Queensland Premier’s Drama Award. Freelance work has included as dramaturg and lyricist with composer Elena Kats-Chernin for the world premiere of Symphonia Eluvium, commissioned for the Brisbane Festival. Prior to her five years at Queensland Theatre, she had undertaken a range of management, writing, presenting, teaching and tutoring roles including at Queensland Writers Centre, ABC Classic FM, The University of Queensland, and QUT Creative Industries; and in Sydney including as Publications Editor for Sydney Theatre Company, and Editorial Manager for the Sydney Symphony Orchestra. Opera experience includes in Company Management and as Program Editor at Opera Australia, and in Company Management for Scottish Opera. Erica is a very experienced manager and writer who has worked extensively in a wide range of roles in the arts, both in Australia and abroad. She has a particular passion for collaborative projects and partnerships that cross boundaries bringing together the best of different disciplines to create something even better.
