Emily Turner


Most recently Emily performed as a member of the Opera Queensland Chorus in Madama Butterfly, La traviata and The Perfect American, and as Harry in Queensland Conservatorium’s production of Albert Herring directed by Bruce Beresford. Other operatic roles include Barbarina in Le Nozze di Figaro, Yum Yum in The Mikado, Dew Fairy in Hänsel und Gretel, Frantik in The Cunning Little Vixen, and chorus roles in The Rake’s Progress and Suor Angelica.

Emily was a finalist in the Sydney Eisteddfod’s Open Age Opera Awards (2016), was awarded runner up in the Alton Budd Memorial Award in the Murwillumbah Festival of Performing Arts (2016 & 2014), the Success on Stage Operatic Aria (Open age) in the Brisbane Eisteddfod (2014) and the Elizabeth Muir Memorial Prize Postgraduate Award at the QLD Conservatorium (2014).

Emily completed a Graduate Diploma of Music Studies (Opera) from the Queensland Conservatorium of Music in 2016 under the tutelage of Mr Joseph Ward OBE.

Emily recently attended the Opera Scholars Australia Summer School (2017), and with them performed in the Opera in the Alps concert, alongside Teddy Tahu Rhodes, Alexandra Flood and Shanul Sharma. Emily is thrilled to be a Young Artist for the Pacific Opera Program in 2017.
