Following a lifelong passion for music and theatre, Rachael studied Music and Technology at the Queensland Conservatorium, Griffith University. In 2001 she travelled overseas to further her career working first as a stage manager on musicals and theatre productions and then pursuing her love for children’s theatre working for Disney Creative Entertainment.
Rachael returned to Australia in 2013 to develop her own theatre company, Clear Canvas Productions, which primarily focuses on children’s productions helping to develop and excite young minds. Her company’s debut production, Holly and Ivan’s Christmas Adventure, performed throughout schools and hospitals across Queensland during the 2015 Christmas Season. The company is now developing a series of shows for the primary school curriculum.
Rachael also commits her time to the Conservatorium of Music, Musical Theatre course as a stage manager and has worked on a number of productions including Carousel, Hair, Miss Saigon, Oklahoma, I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change and The Secret Garden.
Rachael is committed to the development of new theatre works being involved in the touring production of Shrinks in Queensland and SONG the story of a girl, a bird and a teapot in Brisbane and Adelaide.
Rachael’s prior work with Opera Queensland includes stage management of Rigoletto, La boheme, La traviata, Candide, The Adventures of Figaro and Snow White along with directing the April Open Stage Youth Workshop in 2016.
In 2017, Rachael will return to OperaQ as Assistant Director to Michael Gow on The Pearlfishers.
