Bryan is an award winning actor who has pursued a career in both theatre and film, acting with several of Australia’s major theatre companies and appearing in many international and locally made films over the recent years. For the stage he has appeared in many productions including Kiss Me, Kate, Candide (Opera Queensland), St Mary’s in Exile (QTC), Much Ado About Nothing (QTC), The Odd Couple, Australia Day, Design for Living, Pygmalion, Waiting For Godot, The Alchemist, The Importance of Being Earnest, Private Fears in Public Places, A Christmas Carol, The Venetian Twins, Scapin, The Lonesome West, Mano Nera, The Cherry Orchard and The Road to She-Devil’s Salon, for Queensland Theatre, Edward Gant’s Amazing Feats of Loneliness – a Sydney Theatre Company/La Boite co-production, As You Like It, The Wishing Well, The Danger Age, The Year Nick McGowan Came to Stay, Operator, Creche and Burn, Way Out West, and Milo’s Wake for La Boite. Other theatre credits include George’s Marvellous Medicine, 1984, Animal Farm, Tequilla Mockingbird for shake & stir theatre co, Hamlet – a Matrix Theatre/QPAC co-production, The Composer is Dead for QPAC’s Out of the Box Festival and Australia The Show! for Hothouse Theatre Company.
In 2003, he was a member of Queensland Theatre’s Emerging Actors Ensemble and also won the MEAA Award for Best Emerging Artist and was Artistic Associate for the company from 2004-2006.
As well as theatre, Bryan has worked on a number of films including In Like Flynn, Don’t Tell, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, Tracks, The Great Gatsby, The Railway Man, Singularity, A Heartbeat Away, Daybreakers, Triangle, The Proposition, Nim’s Island, Subdivision, The Horseman, Punishment and Hildegarde. Television appearances include Monarch Cove, Starter Wife, Fat Cow Motel, and Love Weights. He is also a voice over artist for television and radio and has provided character voices notably for the CGI animated international children’s series, Farmkids.
He has been a recipient of several awards and in 2012, received a Gold Matilda for his overall contribution to theatre and a Silver Matilda for his performance in La Boite’s As You Like It.
He is a graduate of the University of Southern Queensland.
